Thousand Island Pictures

Looking out from our mooring at Leek Island, the water is so clear that you can see the bottom at 10+ feet -- the waters are full of fish (we watched two kids from another boat hook a large pike on too small a line, and enjoy the struggle of getting it over to their boat so mom and dad could see before it got away)

Experienced a fantastic wind in the evening, after dinner sitting in cockpit James noticed the roar of the the wind coming, and within minutes it was blowing like stink -- I bet gusts above 50. Thank goodness for strong moorings!

Sunrise is 5:30 -- sunset is after 9:30 -- so we had long periods of light to enjoy the surroundings.

This is the next island -- about thirty minutes from our original anchorage. Endymion Island and just across the water is the United States -- in fact we heard coyotes or wolves howling over the evening. Thank goodness for Ellen and James, cause it was really blowing when we picked up the mooring here. Again, a Parks Canada facility.

Somehow, James never had problems with the outboard. I on the other hand frequently ended up rowing!
