Cape Vincent -- a surprizing gem

Chessie and I hiked down the main street in Cape Vincent today -- and discovered a gem of a town, with great older houses like this one and extremely friendly people. Even had one of the workers at the Marina offer me the use of his jeep during the day if I needed it -- declined because the walking is good for me (Chessie is not sure she agrees after two days of hiking about five miles each day)

Built in the early 1800's by one of the founders of this community, this is a stone house that is now a private residence
Someone's pretty impressive stables -- but they aren't being used as such (at least this weekend)
The view out their back is to Wolf Island in Canada, across the St Lawrence River -- you can just sit a stare at the water forever.
