Left Oswego yesterday morning around 9 a.m. and pulled into the Confederation Basin in downtown Kingston by 3 p.m. Crossing Lake Ontario was "interesting" -- although the weather was clear there were 3-4 foot waves coming out of Oswego that bounced everything including books in the forward cabin around -- everyonce in a while the bow was under the water. But, once we hit deeper water -- the lake has 500 plus feet at this end, the seas flattened out and we made good time.
Although we were never totally out of sight of land the crossing itself was fifty miles, so we saw hills in the distance, nuclear power plants, and other industrial towers before we saw shorelines.
We are off to the Thousand Islands for the weekend, weather permitting we will anchor, moor, or simply pull up to a Parks Canada dock for the nights. Then back to here. Maybe out of internet range for a few days -- just don't know at this point.
Need I say, we are HAVING A BALL!!!
