The locks are hand cranked, open shut fill drain, everything is done by hand. Imagine how fit these people are by the end of the season. This is the top of the third lock, heading into the fourth -- we had hoped to be able to tie up and explore, but they had maintenance to do, so we turned around and headed back down after the fourth lock.
