Happy Canada Day

Yesterday was the national holiday here -- great day for fireworks and families. We took it all in from the marina -- sorta like Annapolis, could see the significant displays but some of the ground ones weren't visible just noise. Visited with some US expats who have moved here from NY and love it.

Spent the morning scrubbing the "bimbo" pads and the front deck -- five hours of cold water, soap, and some anti-fungal to get rid of the mildew. Who says boating is all fun?

Today is cool and bright, with considerably less wind than the last two days when even some of the bravest boaters hung inside and visited with one another rather than going out in 1 to 2 meter waves. Smart people these Canadians!

Now that everyone has gone out -- boats were leaving the dock by 6 a.m., the marina is practically empty -- I'm planning on just hanging around, waiting for the engine mechanic (still) to see if he can come up with a solution to the problem of belts slipping when the supercharger is trying to kick in. Now, this has been going on for two years -- so it won't stop me from heading out next week -- but it would be nice....eh?
