Thunder and Lightning, Wind, Hail, and Sceptical Dogs

So yesterday, it was beautiful in the morning, raining cats and dogs (excuse the pun Sophie) and then turned nice. Today -- thunder rumbled all morning long, and finally the front showed itself to the south of us. Soon after this was taken, you couldn't see the boats, the shore, or anything else.

My brave dog, Sophie, decided that it was probably okay as long as Mom didn't duck when the lightning showed it's ugly face.

We are in the middle of some sort of monster system that has brought as much as 5 inches of rain yesterday to towns not more than 30 miles as the crow flies.

Good news -- the flies have all but been pelted to death by the rain. The bad news -- they will return when the wind and rain stops. I'm here til Monday or Tuesday when Rick will join me for the run around the Mackinac Straits (about 60 miles) to Cheboygan. Then the summer will begin, by golly!!
